Why choose St Dominic's
St Dominic’s Catholic College, Mayfield is a Kindergarten to Year 12 school that provides educational excellence for children with a range of disabilities including hearing impairment, Autism Spectrum Disorder and/ or Cognitive disability.
At St Dominic’s we focus on building positive and authentic connections with our students. We create a comfortable teaching and learning environment where students feel empowered and confident.
We understand student engagement and learning begins with knowing the individual, their strengths and challenges. We believe in providing students with the knowledge, attitude, skills, and values to support them to reach their potential post-school.
Our small class sizes support students’ individual educational needs, in addition to their communication, social and sensory needs. The program aims to prepare students for either a smooth transition into a mainstream setting or for the continuation of learning in a Catholic specialised setting.
At St Dominic’s, students are directed to establish lifelong learning behaviours and routines to maximise independence.
There are very limited spaces available for these classes and appropriate diagnostic reports must be presented with the enrolment application. Potential enrolment is based on class availability and classroom dynamics.
